P A R T O N E ~ Cositas Home Re-Opening We’re r P A R T O N E ~ Cositas Home Re-Opening
We’re really happy that we have re-opened Cositas Home on Holywell Hill.

Because we sell the fab Fusion Mineral Paint and it makes up a substantial proportion of our sales we’re able to open as paint falls into the “hardware” category which is deemed an essential item. We didn’t open for the first two weeks of lockdown though because our stock was low and we didn’t want to disappoint our customers who made the trip to come and buy from us. It also didn’t feel morally right to open without waiting for this order to come in from Canada and I definitely didn’t want to be using the fact that we sell paint as a loophole- it would have felt a bit like that if we had have opened sooner.

We’re now as stocked as we can be and will be open every day from 10-4 in Cositas Home where you can browse and buy Fusion Mineral Paint and order Bauwerk Limewash paint along with our normal selection of homewares. We’re still operating our Click & Collect service in both shops if you’d prefer to use that service and we will of course be adhering to all our usual standards to keep you safe including limited numbers in the shop, separate entrance and exit, and numerous sanitising stations.

🛍Cositas Gifts on High Street will be operating its usual Click & Collect hours between 10-2.

👏We’re excited to have the doors of Cositas Home open again and look forward to seeing you shopping safely with us again.

P A R T T W O ~ Calling All You Professional Furniture Painters

Lockdown always has everyone getting creative with their living spaces, either wanting to transform a piece of furniture with paint or looking for someone to do it for them.
We no longer have an in house furniture painter to take commissions and it’s been something I’ve been meaning to address for a while. So I’m going to put together a list of details of furniture painters who want me to pass on their info 📝 So if you get paint from us and want to be on the list that I pass on to customers, drop me a message below 👇🏼 And also if you want me to send you over the list, leave me a message too!

Lockdown 2.0 is definitely different to the first Lockdown 2.0 is definitely different to the first one. As a small business, we are constantly having to adapt, think outside the box, and overcome any obstacles that are hurled at us. As non-essential shops are currently not allowed to be open (this subject needs a whole post in itself🙄), we will be open for Click & Collect on Thursday onwards between 10am-2pm in both shops (Monday-Saturday)!🙌
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you pop down to either Cositas Gifts in the Village Arcade or Cositas Home on Holywell Hill, you will see QR codes above products in our window. To use our Click & Collect service, you can:

🧾 Show us your order confirmation (which we will double check has come through on our end)
... and voila! You can then walk away with your desired products that you have chosen without having even entered our shop! Window shopping made easy🙌🛍 (swipe to see a little video of how to use the QR codes using your phone!)🤟

One of the best ways to overcome the problems we face is to collaborate and stick together. We’ve worked with @thebarefootaccountant for 4 years and they are supporting us tremendously by loaning us their shop window in Redbourn so that we can showcase our products as much as possible while we’ve been forced to close❤️💔
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thank you @fuse_innovation for making our QR codes & Ele @thebarefootaccountant for loaning us your window🤗
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We hope you come & “click our windows”! We look forward to seeing you when you Click & Collect! Thank you so much for supporting us💕
With so much out of our control at the moment I’ With so much out of our control at the moment I’ve had a stern talking to myself and decided to focus on the things I DO have some control over.

So I lit the Christmas weeping willow and got busy making plans. As far from ideal as this situation is, we are prepared for it and are determined to do our absolute best to keep shopping with us easy and worthwhile for our lovely loyal customers without whom we are nothing.

💻 Online ordering is available at cositas.co.uk where we will have click and collect available as well as free local deliveries (within 2 miles of the shop)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🛍 Our opening hours from Monday will be 10am-10pm in both Cositas Home and Cositas Gifts. It’s only a two minute walk between the two shops
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🎥 FaceTime shopping will be available
📸 And you’ll see me popping up all over our social media showing you all the new stock - sorry if I get annoying 😐
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🏘 Were in the process of organising a “Shop Our Window” thingy where you will be able to click on a QR code and be taken straight to that product on our website. (I wasn’t expecting to have to do this so soon, so bear with me a week or so)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👶🏼 And our new little baby sister shop Cositas Gifts will have a website up and running in the next week from where you can order our fabulous “Family To Family Gift Boxes” dropping a bit of Christmas fun and cheer straight to the door of your loved ones, I’m really excited about this and can’t wait to have it ready.

In the meantime you can find everything on the usual Cositas Website.

Hopefully I’ll see you from 10-10 if you’re in town making the most of a last pint or meal from all our amazing eateries, pubs and bars.

Here’s to us, St Albans, we’ve done it before and we can do it again 💪🏼

And for all our customers further afield and overseas, your orders will still reach you with the same diligence and care that they always have done.

Lots of love from me to you and a great big THANK YOU!! Emma and the chicas at Cositas 💕

I’ve never been a fan of missing out on things i I’ve never been a fan of missing out on things in life in general and in business - I like to think I seize every opportunity and change direction to get the final results I want 💭
I also have this thing where I change the ending, and it’s advice I give to my friends when they ask for it. If something didn’t quite turn out how I was hoping it might, I pretend that the outcome was different so that I don’t feel bad and unfulfilled.

So today when Ed Davey @edwardjdavey popped his head around the door of Cositas Gifts to say hi but I was in the other shop 🤦🏻‍♀️I knew something had to be done to turn it into the happy ending I would have wished for. Ed getting his photo taken outside the shop and having it sent to me just wasn’t going to cut it 😖
👩‍💻 Enter my clever techy daughter and ta daaa, here I am photoshopped into the original photo having a lovely catch up chatting to him about how @cositasstalbans and St Albans are trying to keep retail viable throughout this weird Christmas trading period exactly as it would have happened in my ideal world. 🥂 And now I’m pouring a glass a wine and celebrating the day that Ed Davey popped in to say hi and I sat on the pink bench chatting to him😂 Swipe for the actual photo! #imadreamer #changetheending
Loving, loving loving the @livingroom.plants Pop U Loving, loving loving the @livingroom.plants Pop Up Shop. Honestly, I’m not even being dramatic, the whole ambience of the shop has changed; it feels so zen and fresh. Prices range from £5 - £35
💥 ONE DAY ONLY 💥 Saturday 24th October 10- 5
Come and see us and meet the lovely John and his fab business 💕🌱
🙌I really do believe that behind every successf 🙌I really do believe that behind every successful High Street is a dedicated and mindful community and now more than ever we can see how the two are intrinsically linked.
🎄 This Christmas is going to be make or break for so many businesses, big and small, and I’ve taken one of the biggest biggest risks I’ve ever taken this year to try to secure us a chunk of the much needed Christmas trading that high street retailers rely on to be able to keep on top of the overheads that come with a physical shop through the traditionally quiet months of January and February.
👯‍♀️ I feel so supported by a fantastic network here in St Albans, and it’s great to see our local newspaper @hertsad get well and truly behind us all. For that and our wonderfully unique indie business neighbours, and our incredible customers, we are truly thankful. I’ve tagged some of the small businesses I’ll be shopping with this Christmas 🛍
Xx
